Positive Discipline combines firmness and kindness to teach essential social and life skills in a respectful, encouraging way, fostering mutual respect while avoiding punitive or permissive approaches.
Developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen in the late 1970s and first published in 1981, Positive Discipline is rooted in Adlerian principles of mutual respect and encouragement, offering practical tools for modern parenting and education.
Gamma International College is working toward accreditation by the Positive Discipline Association, guided by Groupe Scolaire Oasis, which has implemented Positive Discipline since 2016 and was recognized as a "Positive Discipline Lab School" in 2018. GIC will provide training for teachers and administrators and incorporate weekly class meetings for students to develop life skills. Parents will also have access to parenting workshops through the GIC Family Academy.
